The new 22-member government of France

A French-run "multi-party" government, consisting of 22 ministers and deputy ministers, including eleven women and eleven men, was announced today by French President Emmanuel Macron. Among them, three Ministers of State with responsibilities of Interior, Justice and Ecology.

62-year-old Nicolas Ilo, the popular former TV presenter who has been working in ecology in recent years, is in charge of a ministry for the first time. But he had collaborated in the recent past with Francois Holland, who had appointed him "Special Envoy for the Planet" in view of the Climate Conference held in Paris in 2015.

Senator and mayor of Lion Gerard Columb, a member of the right wing of the Socialist Party, is in charge of the interior ministry. He had helped Emmanuel Makron from the start, and even taught at the ceremony of taking up the last one last Sunday. He is 70 years old and this is the first time he takes over the ministry.

In addition to the former Minister of Defense who moved to the Foreign Ministry, another member of the government of Bernard Kaznev remains with today's government: Anic Zirarden, who is in charge of the Overseas Ministry.

On the right are Bruno Le Mer (Finance Minister) and Gerard Darmanen (Budget Minister), who is next to Nicolas Sarkozy.

The government returns, after 20 years, the centrist Francois Bairu, to the Ministry of Justice. The center also includes the new European Affairs Minister Maríelle de Sarnène and the new Defense Secretary Silvi Goular.

The publisher François Nissen takes over the Ministry of Culture and the former Lora Fiesel Fencing Champion of the Sports Ministry.
