US President Donald Trub had telephoned today with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussing the diplomatic crisis that broke out between Arab states and Qatar.
Trab and Erdogan discussed ways of resolving the conflict, "while ensuring that all countries work together to end the financing of terrorism to combat extremist ideology," the White House said in a statement.
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and Egypt imposed sanctions three weeks ago in Qatar, accusing the Emirate, among other things, of supporting terrorists. Doha denies accusations.
Turkey has supported Doha in its controversy with Arab countries.
