2,600 soldiers grew up in western Venezuela after looting and attacks

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro today ordered that 2,600 soldiers be deployed in the state of Tachira (west), near the border with Colombia, as incidents of looting and attacks against police stations and military installations were recorded.

"I ran the growth of 2,000 soldiers and 600 special forces," Defense Minister Vladimir Pantorino Lope told the state-run television channel VTV.

According to him, he took this decision at the request of President Maduro.

Venezuela has been shocked since early April by anti-government demonstrations during which 42 people have been killed.
