Mn. Yildirim: Ankara "not satisfied" by US promises and Iraq and "will not stay idly"
Turkey is prepared to "take action" in Iraq because it is not satisfied with the promises of Washington and Baghdad that the Kurdish and Shia fighters will not participate in the battle of Mosul, said Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.
Speaking to reporters at the Ankara Yildirim also said that Turkey will not remain idly observing the situation in Iraq, given that this country has 350 km long border.
"Turkey can not renege against the massacres, the possible refugee flows and conflict along the border and will take action if necessary," he said.
"We have made all preparations to implement measures because the promises given to us from the US and Iraq regarding the involvement of the PKK and Shia businesses do not satisfy us," continued the Turkish prime minister.
Yildirim's statements were broadcast directly on television.
