Twice help Ankara in 2018, provides a draft decision of the Meeting

The European Union will double the amount of assistance offered to Turkey for hosting Syrian refugees, but would welcome Syrian refugees directly from Turkey, according to a draft decision of the Summit learned of the news agency Reuters.

The draft decision refers by a list of the actions that the two sides will be assigned to an end, as mentioned, the refugee crisis. According to European and Turkish officials, this text has been based in Turkey and proposals circulated by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk as a basis for discussion between the leaders, who will meet again with the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu later today.

Included in the draft proposal be readmitted in Turkey all irregular migrants arriving in the Greek Islands, including the Syrian refugees. In return, the EU Member States will receive an equal number of refugees with those who are sent back to the Turkish territory of the Greek islands.

The EU will offer further EUR 3 billion by the end of 2018 to assist the Turkish authorities to provide shelter to Syrians, double amount of what was agreed today. It will relax the conditions for granting visas to Turkish nationals wishing to visit the Schengen area by the end of June, earlier than always planned according to the draft.

The draft states that "Turkey and the EU reaffirm their commitment to further promote their relations," adding that the two sides will advance to "taking action results-oriented to prepare their common future." Moreover, it becomes the "common commitment to ending the irregular migration into the EU."
