For new attacks IK warns British police

The fighters of the Islamic State organization want to commit "vast range and spectacular" attacks in Britain and general objectives that represent the western lifestyle, today warned a senior official of the anti-terrorist units in Britain.

The deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police of London Mark Rowles noted that the threat of extremist group increasingly intensified and the jihadists appear willing to repeat in other countries attacks like that of Paris where 130 people were killed.

"What we are seeing in recent months ... is this threat strengthened (to be developed) more plans to attack the western lifestyle ... which expanded from the limited objectives (in the past) against the police and the army and its symbols state into something broader, "said Rowles reporters.

"You see a terrorist organization with greater ambitions for enormous range and spectacular attacks, not just the types of attacks that we have seen to be canceled today."

The head of Britain's security services have previously warned that the greatest threat posed by the organization is the radicalization of young Britons over the Internet and the risk they pose those included in the ranks of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq and returning to home to carry out attacks.

Around 800 Britons are believed to have traveled to Syria, many to penetrate the terrorist organization after the outbreak of civil war.

Rowles noted that the arrests in which the authorities have recently gone shows that the Islamic State adopts a different methodology as it attempts to send fighters in northern Europe who possess weapons and training militia.

"The terrorist organizations always wanted to commit the greatest and most spectacular attack as it will have more impact," said he.

He noted that the British police have made more arrests on terrorism in 2015 compared to other years including a significant number of women and young people aged under 20 years.
