Limited further support of Finns for the euro



The support of Finns in favor of leaving the country in the euro area declined further, according to a survey of the state network YLE.

Despite the recovery recorded in other eurozone countries, Finland records here three years of economic slowdown and some citizens in the countries argue that the prospects of the country would improve if return to its national currency, the markka.

According to the poll, 54% of Finns in favor of staying in the country in the euro zone while 31% wanted to leave this. Asked whether Finland will do better outside the euro zone, 44% of respondents answered yes.

A similar survey by YLE in 2011 showed that 72% were in favor of leaving the euro zone and 19% against.
