Italy: Increased the average unemployment in 2015
11.9% reached the average unemployment rate in Italy in 2015, with a decrease of 0.8% compared with the previous year, according to data presented in the National Institute of Statistics Istat.
As regards the last quarter of 2015 unemployment is limited, always according to Istat, 11.5%.
While the number of unemployed, annually, 2015 decreased by 203,000 individuals and 6.3%. As regards youth unemployment up to 25 years, last year remained high -in 40.3% - but a decrease of 2.4% compared with 2014.
It is the first time this figure has been falling in the last eight years. The National Statistics Institute adds that most of the new contracts signed in 2015, was open-ended.
According to Renzo government, this last figure due to labor market reform that came into force last year and provides favorable conditions for the indefinite hiring.
However this reform provides parallel and easier dismissals, payment obligation, in most cases, only financial compensation
