Ivanov: Problematic situation in the country
On the assumption that the stagnation of the FYROM's European course is not only due to the dispute with Greece over the name issue, but also the problematic political situation in Macedonia yesterday moved the country's president Georgi Ivanov, at the established annual address to parliament country.
It is the first time a high-ranking Macedonian factor recognizes publicly that the setback on the country's European course is not only to "interferences" on the part of Greece because of the name issue as constantly says Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
Macedonian President in his speech in the House recognized that in this year the European Commission's progress report for Macedonia reflected the swamp, which has received the European perspective of the country.
"The European Commission has long postponed the publication of the progress report, because there was the danger we ourselves put off our future, our irresponsible behavior. Instead a progress report, we received stagnation report. After seven years, instead of date opening accession negotiations, we received conditional recommendation for start of negotiations, "said Mr. Ivanov.
It noted that the European Commission, in the progress report on Macedonia, which released on November 10, postponed until after the elections of April 2016 in Macedonia its advice to the European Council to start or not accession negotiations with the country, unlike the past six years, when repeated in the annual progress reports positive recommendation, according to the Athens Press Agency
As regards the problems with which is facing Macedonia for the management of increased refugee flows, Mr. Ivanov stressed that Macedonia suffers the consequences of the EU's failure to effectively manage the situation created.
Mr. Ivanov added that, in numerous meetings with European leaders the previous period, made it clear that Macedonia is only one transit country and as such is able to accommodate up to 2,000 refugees in temporary centers.
Even the president of Macedonia said that his country sought to be more effective cooperation with Greece.
"So I spoke to our request in two opportunities I had with the Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras. My efforts paid off.
Recently, Greece sent an official request to Frontex for deployment at the Greek-Macedonian border. Will be their role to control and registration of immigrants who want to enter our country. Since Mr. Tsipras received the promise of more intensive cooperation and communication between the security agencies of our two countries, "noted the president of Macedonia.
