Canada: whale watching boat Shipwreck - Five dead

Canadian whale watching boat in which 27 people aboard sank Sunday off the coast of British Columbia, thus killed five people while the fate of a missing.

Military helicopter and rescue aircraft were sent to the area off the coast of Tofino, when the boat sent distress call around 17:00 local time, according to the JRCC. Many other boats coastguard surveyed off the abnormal west coast of Vancouver Island.

Also, fishermen and fishing companies involved in rescue operations, with about 15-20 boats to leave the tourist poli.Eikosi one people were rescued until yesterday evening, while eighteen were transferred to the General Hospital of Tofino, of which three have been evacuated in other medical centers of the island. Their situation is stable and some have already been discharged.

Earlier, military aircraft and coast guard boats lit up the area where the ship remained half sunk eight miles northwest of Tofino.

"All our attention is now directed to passengers and our crew, so they will give information whenever the time is appropriate," said a staff member of the Station Whale and Exploration Centres Jamie, managed the boat Leviathan II.
