Wall Street Journal: Extending EU sanctions against Russia as of March 2016
The European Union is likely to extend until March 2016 the sanctions against officials and about 190 companies from Russia and the self-proclaimed people's democracies in eastern Ukraine, said today in a publication of the efimeridaWall Street Journal, citing diplomatic sources.
According to sources, the decision will be taken at a meeting of senior European officials Wednesday "to maintain pressure on Moscow to implement fully the terms of the ceasefire in Minsk by the end of next year."
Existing sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans aimed at 151 individuals and 37 entities and companies are scheduled to expire on September 15.
