A citizen of Gambia, accused shared on social networking site Facebook a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad, was detained near Banjul and will be tried tomorrow Monday, a judicial source said yesterday.
The Alagki Mam Sai, unemployed, about thirty years old, was detained Thursday in Brikama, near the capital, and will go tomorrow in court, told AFP the source, who asked not to be named.
"He acknowledged accusations that he intended to harm the Muslims in the Gambia that the police indicted" by publishing a cartoon of Muhammad, said the same source in which the events unfolded on July 11 in the laminate, close to the capital.
