The telecommunications giant Telefonica and many other Spanish companies have been targeted today by cybercrime, which has become known by the Spanish authorities.
The country's energy ministry said it "confirmed different cyber attacks against Spanish businesses," from a "ransomware" virus that prevents access to files until the user has paid ransom.
In a press release published in Madrid, the ministry appears reassuring:
"Attack affects individual data processing equipment working for different businesses" and "does not affect the provision of services nor the operational security of the network nor the user of these services".
The attack "does not jeopardize data security and is not a data leak," insists the Energy Ministry.
The National Cryptology Center (CCN); Part of intelligence services responsible for security of information technology - spoke of a "massive ransomware attack".
