The Trump government loosened restrictions on raids with unmanned, drones

The Donald Trump government gave greater freedom of action in the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA, regarding shocks with remote-controlled, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against extremist targets in the Middle East, said US media reports.

This policy changed radically what existed in the days of Barack Obama when the raids were carried out by the armed forces and very often had to obtain approval of the targets under an Intergovernmental process in Washington before the blows made.

The newspaper Wall Street Journal wrote today that "the president Donald Trump gave secrets to the CIA's new powers to conduct strikes with UAVs against terrorist suspects."

Extensive powers were first used at the end of February in the bombing in order to second in command of al Qaeda in the territory of Syria, Abu Hail Al Masri, according to the report, cited by government officials without naming them.

Until recently, the US military confirmed their operations using UAVs, but for that raid did not give the slightest information.

Asked about the AFP, the CIA declined to comment.

The Trump government also gave the Pentagon the green light to carry out raids with UAVs or the development teams of special forces in Yemen without precondition the approval of the White House, according to yesterday's publication of the newspaper New York Times. According to the same source, the same would be expected to apply to Somalia.
