Revelations of Die Welt on the EU-Turkey agreement on refugee

The German newspaper Die Welt argues something that did not know the Heads of State and Government of 28 when a year ago they signed in Brussels in the presence of the then Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, the EU - Turkey agreement on the refugee.

"Chancellor Merkel and Dutch Prime Minister Rute, whose country chaired then the EU, during the negotiations on the refugee agreement were given to Turkey specific promises that the EU would take 150000-250000 Syrian refugees directly from Turkey," stated in the article.

"The agreement made between Merkel, Davutoglu and Rute presented the next day at the Summit Meeting surprise as Turkish proposal. The 28 approved the final communiqué of the Council adopting the agreement on "humanitarian grounds".

The exact number of refugees, however, not mentioned in the rest of Heads of State and Government. It was a gentlemen's agreement (Gentlemen? S Agreement). Confirm and then several who were involved in the negotiations, "concludes the article. This information is based on the journalist's book Welt Robin Alexander circulating today.
