There will be no "best" status for London after Brexit, warn the EU and Paris

O European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the French Minister Bernard Kaznev rule out London to be able to negotiate a relationship with the EU which would be more beneficial than that which exists between the EU Member States, after end of their meeting in Brussels.

"We agreed on a basic point: that the regime one day will be offered in Britain will not be a system as favorable in comparison to that which characterizes the rule of law and what is acceptable between EU Member States," said Jean- Claude Juncker.

"The exit from the EU if this output (...) is a logic" will lead to a new relationship with the EU countries will be different compared to that between Member States, insisted European official before journalists.

On his part, the head of the French government remained the same line on negotiations to be held in London:

We should "ensure that we defend the interests of the EU and that a state that leaves the EU can not benefit from a better status compared with that between Member States."
