Two weeks after the announcement of the candidacy of Martin Schulz, Social Democrats ahead of the Christian Union (CDU-CSU) of Angela Merkel for the first time in the Institute Insa poll.
As broadcast by DW, a weekly poll of the Institute Insa the SPD now leads by one percentage point of the two Christian parties (CDU / CSU).
The Christian Democrats of Angela Merkel account for 30% of voter preferences, while the Social Democrats Martin Schulz (more) preceded by 31%.
The Left Party wins a unit (10%), unlike the Greens lost two units garnering just 7%. The Party of Free Democrats FDP and right populist AfD maintain their rates of 6% and 12% respectively.
Asked about the results of this poll that brings the party lags behind its immediate rival in the upcoming federal elections in September, German Chancellor Merkel in a joint press conference room with the president's brother Christianokoinonikou Party of Bavaria Horst Zeechofer, replied that always took seriously and show respect to the Social Democrats competitors.
