Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro yesterday extended for three months the state of "economic emergency

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro yesterday extended for three months the state of "economic emergency imposed since mid-January, as the oil-exporting country is still faced with economic and political crisis.

"I will go to the signature (...) a new decree (...) for the months of May, July and July" in order to "recover the productive capacity of the country," the Madouri said yesterday in statements broadcast by the TV and radio.

Venezuelan President had signed a decree on January 14, with a maturity of 60 days, the effect of which extended then until March.

On his part, the President of the Parliament of Venezuela Henry Ramos Agioup had argued Wednesday that the Madouri "has no authority under the Constitution to extend (the duration applicable) Decree" it. The parliament, where the majority has the opposition, are expected to reject the decree, as it did in the recent past, before it ratified finally by righteousness.

The Madouri had declared state of economic emergency two days after the fall of the price of oil exported by Venezuela to $ 24 a barrel, the lowest level in 12 years. 96% of Venezuela's budget is based on oil revenues.

Venezuelan President attaches problems in opposition machinations and the US economy of the country to destabilize and overthrow the government.

Inflation in Venezuela was in 2015 at 180.9%, while the GDP of Venezuela shrank by 5.7%. It was the second consecutive year of deep recession.
