Bilateral agreement allows for the first time, growth in Vietnam of US Peace Corps
The US and Vietnam signed an agreement today that enables -for the first time the development in the country of US Peace Corps (U.S. Peace Corps). The signing of the agreement was part of a three-day visit to US President Barack Obama in Vietnam.
This agreement was signed after negotiations for more than ten years between the two countries to set up enterprise of US Peace Corps in Vietnam.
The program is expected to be activated within the next two years and will allow volunteers of said body, to teach English in schools of the two biggest cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, director of the Peace Corps said, Curry Chesler-Rantelet, who signed the agreement .The agreement is another step towards normalization of bilateral relations between the US and Vietnam, said the US State Secretary John Kerry.
