On "incredible" efforts Greece is making to the refugee, reported the Ph. Timmermans
The European Commission Vice Franz Timmermans today welcomed the "unbelievable" as he described efforts made by Greece to deal with the refugee crisis.
The vice-president, speaking before the European Parliament in plenary during the debate on the EU-Turkey agreement on the refugees expressed total satisfaction in Brussels about the level of cooperation of the Greek service with European.
As regards the implementation of the EU-Turkey agreement on immigration, legal aspects and the democratic control, most MEPs stressed that there should be no negotiations on the criteria for the release status of visa (visa).
While many stressed the necessity of the agreement due to the inability of the EU Member States to actively take responsibility for the refugee crisis and take action. Others were more critical, accusing the EU of trying to defer to other's difficulties and expressed serious concerns about the situation of refugees, the violation of their fundamental rights and the lack of media freedom in Turkey.
Many also questioned the legal basis of the agreement and whether it complies with international law, particularly the Geneva Convention and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and threatened to bring the agreement before the European Court.
