Dozens of dissidents arrested just hours before Obama's historic visit to Havana



Several dozen activists belonging to the dissident movement Ladies in White were arrested today after the progress made in Havana, just a few hours before the arrival in Cuba of US president Barack Obama, broadcast journalists of the French Agency.

The members of this organization, originally founded spouses former political prisoners, marched near a church in Havana accompanied by movement supporters and demand respect for human rights by the authorities of the island. As happens quite often, they were arrested by police after the end of their course.

Meanwhile the aircraft head of the American state took off from the US towards Havana where Barack Obama will make a historic visit lasting three days, according to a press photographer of the French Press Agency that travels along with the American president.

The presidential plane took off at around 19.30 hours Greece from Andrews Air Force Base near Washington. The landing at Jose Marti Airport in Havana is expected shortly before 23.00 GMT.
