A. Merkel: Some of the perpetrators of the attacks in Cologne lost their right to hospitality
Some of the perpetrators have lost the right to host Germany, said the Chancellor "Angela Merkel, referring to attacks against women and police on the evening of New Year's Eve outside the main train station in Cologne.
Merkel, speaking at an event tonight of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) in Mainz, expressed understanding for those who express reservations about any legislation change, but underlined the need to consider "when someone loses his right to hospitality." Until now this was when it came to penalties over two or three years, but if it turns out that in cases such as Cologne and other cities do not arrive at such long sentences, one must wonder if someone loses his right to hospitality already earlier, said Mrs. Merkel to come: "Yes, it loses the right to hospitality."
The Chancellor also stressed that there is a new situation and one should consider how to deal with it wisely. According to the German press, 'Angela Merkel wants to pass a law providing for the quick deportation of foreign criminals. In the same direction was the installation earlier today of Antikagkelariou Sigmar Gabriel, who asked to serve foreigners penalty home.
