USA: seven dead and dozens injured by tornadoes





At least seven people died and dozens more were injured by the storms and tornadoes that struck much of eastern and southern United States Wednesday, today announced the local authorities.

Many homes were damaged and some were flattened by the successive hurricanes that swept many States like Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas.

The wind turbines is common in these areas the spring but rarely formed this time of year.

According to television networks ABC and NBC News, the youngest of the victims is a 7 years old boy found dead in a car which was swept away by the winds to Mississippi. In this state the wounded more than 40, according to the Athens agency.

"When the tornado came, I lay down on the ground. He's just above me, uprooting trees and cutting them in two. I do not know how can you even talk," she recounted a local resident Holly Springs town, Lance Miks.

"We were at home and heard the wind strengthens. We ran to our shelter. We had at our disposal only 45 seconds, but we arrived in time. Now, there remained nothing more, only desolate land," said one survivor from the county of Perry in Mississippi .

The ABC warned that the overall number of casualties may increase. The danger has not yet passed, and other powerful tornadoes and storms threatening in the next few hours Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky and Mississippi, according to the national weather service has issued dozens of severe weather bulletins.
