Italy: Strong concern from the large increase in deaths
Demographic data for the first eight months of 2015 tending to an alarmingly large increase in mortality in Italy, which increased by an average of 50,000 deaths per month in 55,500 without the experts can give a convincing explanation for the causes of this voltage.
From January to August 2015 Italy recorded 444 658 deaths, from about 400,000 in the same period last year, according to provisional figures published by the national statistical institute (ISTAT) - which are generally customary to change only marginally.
If the recorded trend continues, the total deaths may reach 667,000 in 2015, while the last 10 years ranged between 547,000 and 612,000.
Even the year of lethal heat wave in the summer of 2003, the total had remained at 586,000 deaths, according to the Athens agency.
According to the newspaper La Repubblica, address health service regions (Agenzia per I Servizi Sanitari Regionali, or Agenas) conducts research to hospitals in an effort to form a clearer picture of the causes of the recorded increase in deaths.
Some experts estimate that the additional deaths may be due to influenza, as the vaccination campaign in late 2014 was marked by intense fear and doubt, but dashed by the analyzes that followed for some batches of vaccines.
But the authorities are talking about 8,000 additional deaths due to influenza this year, and only from January to March statistics recorded 23,000 extra deaths, the causes of which confusion.
While, although Julius was very warm, the mini heatwave does not explain by itself the 10,000 excess deaths that were recorded.
"We need to understand if we are faced with a disturbing reversal of the trend," he told La Repubblica the expert on demographics Alessandro Rosina.
"The more elderly population of our country is more vulnerable to changes associated with the climate and the welfare state."
