Turkey: Two protesters killed in clashes in Diyarbakir

Two protesters were killed by bullets in violent clashes with police in Diyarbakir (south-east) during a demonstration against the curfew which has been in force for more than two weeks in some of the districts of this city, reported AFP quoting source adjacent to the security services.

The two victims, aged 21 and 25 years, were killed by gunfire in unclear at present conditions, while trying to enter the district of Sur, theater from the beginning of the month clashes between law enforcement forces of order and supporters of the Workers' Party of Kurdistan (PKK ), according to the same source.

At least two other people, civilians, were injured during the riots.

The Turkish authorities imposed on 2 December curfew in the district of Sur, a few hours after the death of bullets in conditions that are not clear, a famous Kurdish lawyer, Tahir Elche.

The governor lifted that measure a few hours Friday. The governor of Sirnak province announced the re-imposition of curfew, starting tonight in cities Tsizre and Silopi (south).

"They think that they can intimidate us by multiplying the barricades, the trenches. They want to push the people to extremes. They think that the people will blame on the government, "he denounced today the Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu during an interview given to the television network A Haber.

"Neither I am happy with the curfew. But the lifting of the curfew may open the way to be civilian casualties, "added Davutoglu.

"If necessary, these cities will be cleared by home terrorists to home," he promised.
