The advent of Melor hurricane threatens the central Philippines
More than 750,000 people fled their homes in the central Philippines in view of the coming of typhoon Melor, which can cause giant waves, landslides and floods, authorities announced today.
The Melor arrived this morning in northern Samar, rural island in the center of the archipelago, where 1.5 million people live, accompanied by winds blowing at a speed of 185 km. Per hour, according to national meteorological service. There are currently no reports of casualties or damage.
