Moscow says that the crew of the Russian ship had to shoot with small arms when the boat approached about 600 meters, "to avoid a collision."
"The Turkish vessel immediately changed course and went his way past the Smetlivy approximately 540 meters without any contact with the Russian crew," adds the ministry.
Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov, called the Turkish military attaché after the event, adding the defense ministry.
Turkey and Russia are passing through the worst crisis in their relations after the Cold War, since, on November 24, a Russian warplane shot down by the Turkish Air Force.
Since then Russia has announced reprisals against Turkey which mainly target those areas of tourism, energy, construction and agriculture.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Friday (yesterday) the Russian army to respond with "utmost rigor" in any power that threatened him in Syria.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called on the part of Russia for "calm" warned, however, that patience Ankara has "limits".
