Ankara: We want to choose the tension through dialogue
Ankara investigating the incident with the Russian destroyer in the Aegean earlier and will issue an announcement as soon gather more information mostly by fishermen involved in it.
This follows from the statements made by the Turkish Foreign Minister, who is in Rome to participate in talks on Libya.
"We have been informed of the statement of the Russian side ... We will issue a statement about the incident after talk with the fishermen," said M. Cavusoglu, as reported by the Turkish television network Habertuk.
He reiterated his position that Ankara wants to resolve any difficulties in its relations with Russia and that it does not want escalation, while noting that the incident will be placed at the heart of negotiations.
"We want to resolve the tension through dialogue," he said in statements broadcast by the Turkish tileptiko network TRT Turk, which invokes the Athens Press Agency.
