USA: Open the possibility of land engagement in Syria
The United States of America is ready to change tactics in the battle conducted against jihadist Islamic State, and possibly this change include land engagement, said today the US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter.
"We are ready to change our rules of engagement," said Carter in an interview broadcast by the television network MSNBC. "The president Barack Obama has said he is ready to do more, even on the ground."
On Monday, Obama ruled out the possibility of extensive ground operations in Syria as part of an operation against the jihadists of the Islamic State. As noted, such an intervention of the US armed forces, would have only temporary results
