The German government agreed to limit the powers of Intelligence

The coalition in Germany has agreed to reform the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) in order to limit the powers of and reinforce those of the parliament. The Christian Union (CDU / CSU) and Social Democrats (SPD) agreed on the content of a thorough reform of the BND, as reported by Clemens Biningker (CDU) and the Bourkcharnt Liska (SPD), the responsible members of the two parties , the radio station RBB.

Plus, the German Federal Intelligence Service would not be able to spy on other countries of the European Union or EU institutions, while prohibited and industrial espionage. The second part of the reform concerns better control to be exercised in the BND by the German parliament.

The reason for the reform was the recent revelations that the intelligence service spied for its own purposes to many embassies and services' European and allied countries ", in particular France and the US.
