Italy: Students and teachers protested against government changes to Education
Demonstrations against the reform of education applied by government Renzo, now taking place throughout Italy.
At the same time they went on strike teachers autonomous unions Cobas, Unicobas, Anief and Cub. "Culture is not a commodity" and "schools say no to Renzo," are two of the main slogans of the mobilization.
Students and teachers marched in front of the Rome parliament seeking to recruit all school workers for whom the reform of the Italian center-left government does not guarantee permanent job.
Meanwhile, the strike and demonstrations rejecting the "degrading Renzo government decision to increase by EUR 8 gross teacher salaries," after six years during which salaries of all civil servants were "frozen".
In Milan, protesters clashed with police and injured on her head a 50 year old teacher and a 18 year old student.
In Naples two young people (of whom one fainted) and four policemen were injured when police clashed with protesters who wanted to head to the local headquarters of the Union of Industrialists Confindustria.
