Iraq: deadly bomb attacks on Shiites
A suicide bomber detonated explosives today which were belted during the funeral of a Shiite fighter in Baghdad, killing at least 17 people, according to the latest survey of officials of health and safety.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility of the attack. In a statement published on the Internet by supporters of hardline Sunni organization stated that the goal was Shia militiamen fighting against the Islamic State in northern and western Iraq.
Elsewhere in the Iraqi capital, two people were killed by the explosion of two bombs were placed on the edge of a road in Sadr City, a district in which they reside mainly Shiites, according to the same sources.
In Al-Amel district in southern Baghdad, the suicide attack took place in "a mosque and also caused injury to 32 people.
