Journalist arrested in Egypt
The Egyptian military justice arrested and interrogated the journalist Hosam Bachgkat, accusing him of publishing "false information," said the French News Agency Lina Atalach, director of the website Mada Masr which the journalist burn activist works on human rights and freedoms.
The 37-year old journalist, known for rigorous investigations, was asked Sunday morning by the military services. He moved to the military prosecutor's nine hours later, according to the website Mada Masr.
"The Hosam phoned his lawyer and told him that accused it published false information harmful to the public interest," said Lina Atalis.
The Hosam Bachgkat is one of the founders in 2002 of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Freedoms played a role in the popular uprising of 2011 which resulted in the expulsion of Honshu Mubarak from power.
The journalist was awarded at the end of 2011 with the award Alison Des Forges, which is intended for human rights defenders.
Although the reasons for his arrest remain unknown, some in Egypt said it may be the cause of annoying journalistic investigations, mainly for military trials.
In 2014, the journalist was investigating the presence of jihadists in Egypt, showing that many of them were released when the power was exercised by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, set up after the departure of Hosni Mubarak.
Egypt strengthened the summer anti-terrorism legislation by a law provides for the imposition of large fines on journalists and the media, including foreign, that transmit information that contradict the official statements and official reports if attacks.
