Israel: No responsibility army for infant death

The Israeli army denied Saturday any responsibility for the death of an infant eight months, which according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health was suffocated by Israeli tear gas in Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.

The boy, Ramadan Taouamptech suffered asphyxiation from the tear gas used by Israeli soldiers during clashes with young Palestinians throwing stones against them, as he had declared Friday a spokesman for the Palestinian Health Ministry.

"Following medical and operational research, it was concluded that there is no correlation between the actions of the Israeli army in the field and the tragic death of the infant," said spokesman for the Israeli army said in a statement.

"The tear gas was used at a distance of tens of meters from the family residence Taouamptech and none of the means used to dissolve the rioters was not directed against the house," argued the spokesman of the Israeli armed forces.
