The US does not intend to launch long-term ground operations against IK
The United States does not intend to launch large-scale and lasting ground military attacks against the Islamic State, said deputy spokesman of the White House Eric Schultz in a written statement.
"We have no order to start long-term and large-scale military operations as land has made our country in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Schultz.
Earlier yesterday, the business newspaper Wall Street Journal had reported that the US government was thinking to send a small military force in Syria, built by the soldiers of the peshmerga, Kurdish fighting the Islamic State, or the moderate Syrian opposition fighters.
The Schultz added that the US "as clarified Defence Minister 'Aston Carter yesterday (Tuesday), retain the ability to conduct limited operations with allies, where conditions allow".
