Hungary welcomed Germany's decision to reintroduce checks
The Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban welcomed today, calling it "necessary", Germany's decision to reintroduce checks at its borders, due to the massive influx of refugees.
"We fully understand the decision of Germany and we express our full solidarity" Orban said in a statement he made to the German tabloid Bild.
The Berlin decision was "necessary to defend the values of Germany and Europe," he added.
The Hungarian prime minister until now kept a critical attitude towards the policy of Chancellor Angela Merkel to open the gates of the country of refugees, believing that this would stimulate tens of thousands of other migrants attempting to reach Europe.
