It sank off the coast of LivyisAlieftiko with refugees
A fishing aboard in which hundreds of migrants from Africa capsized today off the coast of Libya and so far have been recovered alive about 100 people, as it became known from the Italian Coast Guard.
The fishing had sought help from the port authorities of Catania, Sicily, which in turn informed the Rome center that coordinates all efforts rescue of refugees in the south of Italy.
Two ships patrolling in this zone, approximately 15 miles from the coast of Libya, immediately rushed to the area where sailing fishing. One was the Dignity 1 MSF and the second Le Niamh Irish Navy.
The Irish ship arrived first and got two boats to approach the overloaded vessel but that moment was overthrown. A representative of the Italian Coast Guard explained that the boats are usually so loaded that enough to stand upright while some of their passengers to overturn and sink.
So far they have been recovered alive from the sea about 100 people. Under rushing four other ships to help search and rescue operation.
