The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said today that Moscow is ready for talks with the US for a complete withdrawal of dissident forces from the eastern Aleppo Syria but the immediate response of the rebels was that they will not surrender.
Officer rebel replied after Lavrov's statement that their forces will not be delivered to the Syrian army in eastern Aleppo.
"I asked the factions and answered 'will not surrender'," said Turkey the Malachiftzi Zakaria, the head of the political bureau of Fastakim faction, based in Aleppo.
"The military commanders in Aleppo replied" will not abandon the city. There is no problem with humanitarian corridors to leave the citizens, but will not leave the city. "
For its part, the UN special envoy for Syria Stafa de Mistoura hoped to find "a formula" to avoid an "awful battle" in Aleppo.
Speaking at the Conference on the Mediterranean Dialogue in Rome, de Mistoura hinted that the battle in Aleppo will not last much longer saying "the fact is that Aleppo will not last so long."
"I thought that would be a terrible battle that would end by Christmas or the New Year. I hope the fight does not happen, be some formula."
On the sidelines of the conference, de Mistoura met with the Secretary General of the Arab League, in Ahmed Abul Gheit, who expressed the view that the military solution can cause more bloodshed in Syria, according to a statement issued by the Association.
"The humanitarian cost of the continuation of the current situation in Syria would be unbearable as the military solution can cause more bloodshed and to enhance the chaos," Gates said.
"The restoration of Syria as a unified sovereign state can not be achieved without making the aspirations of the people respected."
"Citizens will be those who will pay the price of the siege imposed in Aleppo and other cities suffered constant bombardment and siege."
