Italy: The scenarios of political developments after the vote Sunday

The referendum on constitutional reform in Italy leads to a series of policy scenarios. These are the highlights:

   If prevailed "yes"

Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, who negotiated this reform and then put before all political factions, comes reinforced.

Although the next parliamentary elections are scheduled for 2018, the Matteo Renzi could ask for early elections in the wake of his victory. But he has promised previously changed the electoral law. And only the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella has the power to dissolve parliament.

   If dominate the "no"

The resignation of Renzo seems inevitable. But then everything becomes more complicated:

   -The Renzo stays in power

The Matteo Renzi submit his resignation to Sergio Mattarella, but he immediately calls for the formation of a new government.

They are able to ensure the confidence of Parliament, either this majority, either with a new pleiopsigfia which will also include the Forza Italia of Silvio Berlusconi as he has hinted in recent days.

The electoral law, which in its present form offers a great bonus in the majority, amended in favor of a more proportional electoral system and launched early elections at the earliest in the spring of 2017.
