The long-standing popularity of President Makron



The percentage of French people who say they trust the country's new president, Emmanuel Makron, two months after his appointment, while the popularity of Prime Minister Edward Philippe is growing steadily, according to a poll by the Elabe Institute released today .

45% of respondents said they "trust" Makron. Almost as many (46%) are however those who said they did not trust him, while 9% did not express an opinion.

Philip's popularity has risen to 43% (from 38%). But almost one in two French (46%) replied that he did not trust him. The rest of the respondents (11%) did not comment on this poll conducted on behalf of Les Echos and Radio Classique.

As far as the popularity of other policies is concerned, Ecology Minister Nicolas Illo is ahead with 61%, followed by Republican Leader Alain Zippe (45%), Foreign Minister Jean-Les Le Diran (35%) and Leader of Invisible Frenchman Jean-Lec Melanzon (32%).
The poll was conducted on 4 and 5 July on a sample of 999 people over the age of 18 and the margin of error was 1.4% to 1.4%.
