French President Emmanuel Makron today called on Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to return to France as soon as possible the French photojournalist Mati Dodardon held in Turkey, the French presidency confirmed in the French News Agency.
During an afternoon phone conversation between the two leaders, Emmanuel Makron and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, "agreed that contacts should be stepped up and the President of the Republic reiterated his request for return as soon as possible to Derardon" in France.
The French photojournalist has been detained since 8 May by the Turkish authorities.
