London police to review security measures at public events after attack in Manchester

London police today announced that it will review security measures for all public events in the British capital and develop additional armed police at sporting events after the bomber-kamikaze attack at the Manchester concert.

"Specialist officers of event planning groups and security guards are currently reviewing all plans for upcoming events in the capital," the London Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

"This includes smaller events where there may not be a police presence, and more attention will now be paid to (and) an increase in armed and unarmed police officers on visible patrols to reassure citizens around pertinent venues", added the police announcement.

Further police forces will be deployed in the weekend's football match at Wembley and the rugby match in Twickenham, according to police authorities.
