At least nine are dead and 25 are missing after a fire broke out during late night party in a warehouse in the city's Oakland California, said today the head of the city's fire department.
Authorities are still trying to ascertain the circumstances under which the accident occurred, said chief Teresa Nteloouts-Reed, which featured "huge" building.
She said the roof collapsed, making it difficult to find the remains. The warehouse in Froutveil district used as a workplace and residence.
"There is a big part of this building has not yet been investigated," said Reed-Nteloouts during renovation renovation of journalists.
The French Press Agency (AFP) reported that the warehouse was raves with the participation of the musical band Golden Donna and was attended by 70 people.
However, Facebook page reported that 176 people were going to attend the party, while 355 who had expressed interest have made posts looking for friends who had finally gone.
