China: At least 14 dead in explosion in prefabricated building
At least 14 are dead and 147 injured by loud explosion in a prefabricated building in the northwest of China, transmits the Chinese news agency Xinhua. The blast occurred early yesterday afternoon in Sinmin city of Shaanxi province, causing the destruction of dozens of buildings, including and a local hospital.
The first evidence that the police have collected show that the explosion was caused by illegal storage of explosives, while the authorities have arrested the owner of the building and conduct research to identify the tenant. Eleven of the injured are hospitalized in intensive care.
