France: Call Waltz unions to stop protests
The French Prime Minister Manuel Vals said today that his government will not withdraw the disputed reforms for employment and urged the hardline CGT union to stop organized mass rallies in Paris, after the violence that erupted yesterday during demonstrations.
"We can not have a general prohibition (of demonstrations), but will assume our responsibilities," said Waltz in radio France Inter station, in the aftermath of clashes between masked gang youth and police forces during the mobilization against the reform of labor relations in Paris. "We can no longer have this shameful spectacle of things to go out of control," added Waltz.
