The international community is discussing ways to support the "stabilization" of Libya

The foreign ministers of European countries, the USA and countries neighboring Libya meet today in Vienna to discuss the chaotic situation in this country, which is undermined by political divisions and is faced with the jihadist threat. The meeting was convened at a critical time: the one, the jihadists of the Islamic State (IR) have expanded recently beyond their control of Sirte, the Libyan city control since June 2015. On the other hand, the national unity government formed with the support of the UN fails to consolidate its power, and it has been over one and a half months after he took office in Tripoli.

The meeting, which will chair the head of diplomacy Paulo Italy Tzentiloni and the US State Secretary John Kerry will participate 'major players' at regional and international level in order to provide support to the "stabilization" of Libya, as stated the Tzentiloni during a recent visit to Tunisia.

The jihadists of IR occupied last week community Abu Gkrain, about 100 km. West of Sirte, after a series of attacks against the military government of national unity. It is the first time the extremist group managed to extend its control to the west of this city.

Political disagreements and security vacuum facilitated by the 2014 appearance of IK in Libya, characterized direct threat to its neighboring country but also for Europe.
