Rapid political developments in Australia

The Senate in Australia passed meterrythmiseis election law after a marathon meeting, which lasted more than 28 hours, launching rapid political developments.

Prime Minister Malcolm Ternmpoul can now cause the dissolution of both chambers of parliament and early elections, with central policy objective end of this parliamentary term of the Senate.

Both independent senators, and senators of smaller parties, who were elected by the elections of 2013 objected to the application key election commitments of the government.

So Ternmpoul government was unable to promote changes that increase the cost of education and health, as well as limitations in the social security system, according to the Athens Press Agency.

Reforms passed by the Senate makes difficult the entry of small parties in parliament, through joint agreements on the percentage of votes.

Thus, reforms give under Ternmpoul a more direct form in the election of senators, paving the way for the adoption of the package of economic reforms promoted by the government.
