2/3 of Czechs opposed to refugees from war zones
About two in three Czechs oppose refugees from war zones, according to a survey whose results were released today.
The countries of Central Europe opposed to quotas for redistributing refugees between EU Member States, with the Czech President Miloš Zeman to be among the leaders who have used anti-immigrant rhetoric.
The latest monthly survey of the Czech Centre opinion poll showed that 65% of Czechs are against the refugees from war zones. The same support 50% of Czechs in September.
Also 28% of Czechs said that the refugees should only be admitted until they can return home.
The Zeman has stated that the integration of Muslim communities in this country of 10.5 million is "impractical" and had described the influx of refugees an "organized invasion".
