Pessimists Austrians for 2016
With optimism begin the new year most of them Austrian citizens, namely a 59% possessed by restlessness and aloofness, while only 31% is the percentage of optimists, as shown on a representative poll conducted at the end of last year.
According to those responsible for the dimoskopikis search, the less reason to feel today joy, said to have women, the generation of 60 and older, as well as lower social classes, whereas, optimistic men appear, young people and those from higher education backgrounds.
As highlighted on the analysis of the findings of the survey, the causes for the formation of mood are the personal situation of each one and the general stance towards life, the percentage of optimists to decline after 2009, from year to year.
Compared with the previous 44 years during which this year carried out the poll at the end of the year, the mood of Austrians reported to have almost reached this year trough, and only in 1982 was worse.
In then poll the percentage of pessimists had risen to 64% (compared to 59% now), but then had improved as well, after a phase of business bankruptcies, followed from 1985 onwards one rebound and a strong feeling of optimism.
In 1989 the percentage of optimistic for next year had arrived, with a 62%, a particularly high level, since the beginning of the new millennium almost every year recorded a negative mood of the population.
In this year's survey respondents mentioned as main causes for pessimism reflection on the current refugee crisis 46%, fear of terrorism (27%), the negative situation of the economy (21%) and their own unsatisfactory personal situation on the job, 19%.
