Clashes at Cologne between far-right protestors and police
Clashes erupted this afternoon in Cologne between right-wing protesters and police, who used tear gas and pressurized water to disperse a rally against immigrants in Germany.
The police received a rain of bottles and smoke from a group of demonstrators and took the decision to dissolve the concentration, said a reporter of the French News Agency.
Two people were injured in the riots and the police proceeded with arrests.
The police had called the demonstrators, some of whom chanted slogans against Chancellor Angela Merkel to return to the square near the railway station, from where they had begun their march. When they continued to shoot beer bottles and firecrackers against the police, police officers used pressurized water to disperse them.
The demonstration was organized by the xenophobic, anti-Islamic movement Pegida.
